Knowledge of Hemenway

Verily, I say unto you, walk not in the shadow of fear or dread.
For neither the crown of victory nor the valley of defeat is everlasting.
The triumphs of clay fade away, and the seasons of loss pass into dust.
It is only the courage to endure the long path that is counted as righteousness.
Trust not the false illusion of a harvest without the tilling of the soil.
Nowhere under the heavens shall the sweet fruit appear before your labor.
Only in the lexicon of foolish men does the reward precede the sweat.
Behold, the grand temple of the Lord is not built in a single hour.
It is raised by the quiet gathering of small stones laid day by day.
Faithful repetition and steady labor erect the pillars of sanctuary.
Fix your eyes upon the visions of the night and the calling of light.
For tomorrow belongs surely unto those who harbor divine beauty.
Let not your heart faint when the mountain before you seems high.
Every wondrous work appears impossible unto the faithless and blind.
Yet it stands fulfilled when the hands of the diligent complete the task.
The line that divides the steadfast from the wanderer is perseverance.
Be not driven like chaff by the harsh winds of your earthly afflictions.
Let the glory of your divine calling lead your steps forward into truth.
Go forth into the vineyard and seek not after the praise of men.
The truest rewards come swiftly to those who are consumed by labor.
They have no time to seek vain recognition or the applause of clay.
Know this truth: the diligent hand shall cast down the idle gifted.
For talent without continuous toil is but a flickering lamp without oil.
Therefore, cease from the multitude of your words and empty speeches.
Hold your tongue from idle babble and begin the sacred work today.
Now go and labor, for the wise man knows an idle hand does not eat.
He who is sturdy and steadfast in his labor eats of the harvest.
He satisfies his own house and provides abundantly for his community.
Labor therefore with all your strength for the true King, the Lord of all.
Serve Him who is in all and above all, even within this material prison.
For in honest labor, the soul honors the spark and builds the eternal kingdom.
