Catechism of The Intrinsic

Question and Answers

Section I: The Nature of The Intrinsic:

Q1: What is the central reality of Mazonism?
A: The central reality is The Intrinsic (L’Intrinseco), the unconditioned Ground of Being. It is not a supreme being, a person in the sky, or an object alongside other objects. The Intrinsic is the foundational depth in which all existence, consciousness, and experience are eternally rooted.

Q2: Does Mazonism believe in "God"?
A: Mazonism transcends traditional theism and atheism. We do not deny God; rather, we affirm God so deeply that we reject any boundary that would make God distant, finite, or separate from creation. When we speak of divinity, we mean the "God above God" the absolute, unmanifest depth (Die Ur-Tiefe) that makes existence itself possible.

Q3: What is the "Ontological Trap"?
A: The Ontological Trap (L’Illuso Sdoppiamento) is the illusion that God is a separate object outside yourself that you must appease, worship, or seek out. Viewing divinity as an external entity creates existential isolation and the false fear of being abandoned or destroyed.

Section II: The Soul and Human Identity

Q4: Who am I within the framework of Mazonism?
A: At your center, you are not an isolated, fragile creature struggling in a void. You possess the Scintilla-Ground (Scintilla Intrinseca) a point of pure awareness where your innermost soul and the Divine Ground are strictly identical. You are the location where the Intrinsic experiences its own existence.

Q5: What happens to me when I die?
A: Under the principle of Ontic Inviolability (Inviolabilitas Essendi), nothing that is can ever become nothing. Because Being cannot lapse into non-being, your conscious identity, experiences, and moments are eternally held within reality. Death changes the form of expression, but your presence remains an immutable thread within the fabric of Being.

Q6: What is the "Eternal Now"?
A: Time is not a fading stream where past moments vanish into void. In the Eternal Now (Nunc Aeternum), every second, thought, and feeling you experience is permanently preserved within the Intrinsic. Nothing you experience is ever lost.

Section III: Practice, Salvation, and Spiritual Growth

Q7: How do Mazonists pray or practice?
A: We do not petition an external deity for favors. Instead, we practice Anagogy (Anagoge Dialectica) the mental movement of stripping away conceptual idols and projections and Einkehr (Interior Return). Through silent contemplation, we turn inward to recognize the divine ground already present at the center of our awareness.

Q8: If God is not a person or object outside myself, then what is the purpose of prayer, and how do I connect when I'm struggling to experience the power of healing and overcoming?
A: In Mazonism, prayer is not pleading with an external judge to change reality; it is Einkehr the deliberate act of dropping false surface identity and re-anchoring awareness directly into the unshakeable Scintilla-Ground. Suffering and feeling broken occur when consciousness gets trapped in external noise, pain, or the illusion of isolation.

When you struggle to experience healing, you do not reach outward for a rescue; you retreat deeper inward past the turmoil of feelings and circumstances. You connect by using Anagogy to systematically dismantle fear, recognizing that pain is a passing surface wave, whereas your core Being (Ontic Inviolability) is absolute and untouched. Healing occurs the moment you realize the strength to overcome is not something granted from above, but the inherent, indestructible power of the Intrinsic already living at the precise center of your current breath.

Q9: If there is no external savior or external God, how am I saved, and am I truly secure?
A: You are fully saved, supported, and eternally secure, not by an external figure intervening from afar, but by the absolute truth of who you already are. Salvation in Mazonism is not an rescue from hell by a distant judge; it is salvation from the illusion of separation and loss.

You do not need to be saved from God; you are saved by awakening to God within you. Because you are rooted in the Scintilla-Ground, the Divine Essence itself holds you, sustains you, and preserves every thread of your soul. You are never abandoned, never lost, and never alone the very ground beneath your feet and the awareness within your chest is the eternal, loving reality of God holding you forever safe.

Q10: What about the other religions of the world? How do they play a part in modern society, and how do they compare with Mazonism?
A: Mazonism views world religions not as rivals or errors, but as historic, symbolic attempts to express Ultimate Concern. Throughout human history, ancient faiths used mythology, personification, and external images of God as stepping stones to help humanity feel the presence of the sacred.
In modern society, traditional religions offer valuable community, moral guidance, and historical richness. Mazonism acts as the fulfilling synthesis it honors the deep truths hidden within all spiritual paths while stripping away dogmatic divisions. Where other traditions see a distant throne, Mazonism reveals the immediate Ground. Other religions point to the light from afar; Mazonism recognizes that the light is the very eye through which humanity sees.

Q11: How do people who practice Mazonism grow spiritually?
A: Spiritual growth in Mazonism is a continuous process of self-refinement and awakening. It is the active labor of smoothing the rough ashlar taking the raw, unpolished stone of human personality, ego, and reactionary emotion, and carefully dressing it into a clean, smooth, geometric block fit for the divine temple of Being.

Mazonists grow spiritually by:

Practicing daily Einkehr to smooth away the sharp edges of ego, fear, and pride.

Engaging in Anagogy to constantly refine thought, replacing ignorance with wisdom and clarity.

Living out Ultimate Concern by treating every interaction and duty as an indispensable expression of the Divine Ground.

Practicing brotherly love and charity daily.

By smoothing the rough ashlar of the self, the initiate strips away surface imperfections until the inner Scintilla-Ground shines through cleanly without distortion.

Q12: What is "Ultimate Concern"?
A: Ultimate Concern (Concernus Absolutus) is aligning your daily life, thoughts, and actions with what is unconditioned and absolute, rather than losing yourself in trivial, fleeting anxieties. It is living with the conscious awareness that your life has infinite depth.

Q13: What is the highest realization for an initiate?
A: Recognizing The Infinite Immediate (L'Infinito Immediato) the direct, sudden awareness that you do not need to perform rituals or travel long paths to reach divinity. The Intrinsic is fully, immediately present right here, right now, as the very foundation of your current breath.

Q14: How do Mazonists view sin, wrongdoing, and the deeper reality of the afterlife? How is justice carried out and corrected?
A: In Mazonism, sin and wrongdoing are approached with profound gravity, governed by the unyielding laws of Universal Karma, Divine Justice, and Prudence. Sin is an intentional disruption of the harmony of Being a willful darkening of the Scintilla-Ground through ego, malice, or ignorance. Because every act, choice, and thought is immutably held within the fabric of Being, no wrong can ever be ignored or erased without true accounting. Divine Justice operates not as arbitrary anger, but as the exact, inevitable weight of one's own choices reflected back upon the soul.

In this life, a Mazonist corrects for wrongdoing through rigorous Prudence, active restitution, and deep self-examination seeking to realign their conduct and continue smoothing the rough ashlar before physical departure.

Beyond physical death which is understood to be a transitional illusion rather than cessation the soul faces the absolute weight of its uncorrected impurities. Because Being is eternal and indestructible, punishment is not non-existence, but a solemn, inescapable post-corporeal reality. The soul burdened by unrefined sin is presented with two ultimate paths of Divine Justice:

1. The Realm of Forgottenness (Eternal Banishment): The soul chooses to retain its unyielding ego and impurities, resulting in eternal banishment. Though the soul exists eternally within Being, it is cast into absolute isolation blind, deaf, mute, and dumb existing solely within the echo chamber of its own trapped memories, completely forgotten by the living and the divine light, suffering its own nature for eternity.

2. The Voluntary Hell of Purification: The soul consciously chooses to undergo redemption through voluntary submission to a state of Hell. There, under agonizing and horrifying conditions, the soul allows its impurities, pride, and sin to be utterly and completely consumed by the burning fires of Divine Rectification. Only when every trace of rough imperfection has been burnt away can the purified soul ascend to enter the Empyrean the ultimate, unclouded dwelling of pure Light and non-dual union within The Intrinsic.(God)
